Palestinian Suicide Bombers
I am a Newsday reader, and I am a Muslim. I am extremely disturbed by your regular and obvious pro-Israel slant consistently at the expense of Muslims. Islam, I might add, is the fastest-growing religion in the world, in the United States and on Long Island
The article "Mayor Rides Deadly Bus Line" [March 12] reports that "Giuliani said he came to express solidarity with Israelis in their fight against Muslim suicide bombers."
The mayor may be blinded in his hunger for the Jewish vote, but Newsday should know the difference between Israel, a state, and Muslims, {adherents to Islam,} a religion of 1 billion people around the world. In the future, please use correct descriptions, if not the truth. "Giuliani said he came to express solidarity with Jews in their fight against Muslims," or "Giuliani came to express solidarity with Israelis in their fight against Palestinian suicide bombers."

Giuliani's Words
Regarding the letter by Imran Anwar ["Palestinian Suicide Bombers," March 22]: I am a Newsday reader, and I am Jewish. Judaism, I might add, is the religion out of which both Islam and Christianity grew.
The lines spoken by New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani that disturbed Anwar were apparently a direct quote by the mayor and reflect his personal feelings, not a bias on the part of Newsday editors. In addition, Anwar must know that Jews have no fight with Muslims except those who interpret their religion to mean that killing innocent Israeli citizens will get them immediate access to Paradise.
