Los Angeles was one of the many venues in the recently concluded Pakistani Pop Stars' "World Tour 97". On April 5, 1997, the audience in a fairly packed Jordan High School Auditorium witnessed for the first time the superb talents of Fakhr-e-Alam (YATAGAAN fame) and Hadiqa Kiyani. They were accompanied by AAKASH, the trendy new band with their ever popular lead singer Ali Haider. The main attraction of the show however was no other than Junaid Jamshed of VITAL SIGNS.

Hadiqa, a relatively new face to the LA crowd, started off the proceedings for the night with her popular hit "Jeevan" and continued with "Jan-e-Jan", "Manne Di Mauj" and a few other singles from her debut album "Raaz". Although she's a great vocalist and a pleasure to listen to, the crowd was'nt too responsive and she did'nt quite received the appreciation which she was entitled to receive.

Next to follow Hadiqa was Fakhr-e-Alam. His sudden dialogue with the audience made him an instant crowd favorite. His "Gaon Ki Larki", "Pyar Diyan Gallan", and of course "Bhangra Rap" got everyone dancing in front of the stage and chants of Bhangra Pao can be heard everywhere!

This was the right tempo when Ali Haider took the microphone with "Qarar" and never lost touch with "Purani Jeans". AAKASH mostly played music for Ali Haider songs and only performed "Dil Wale" from their debut album. Ali, however, continued to please the crowd with his ever-popular numbers like, "Walawai", "Kunwarah", and "Zalim Nazron Se", which provided the youngsters something to dance to.

Junaid started his performance for the night with "Tumhara Aur Mera Naam", accompanied by a flute musician which added a unique touch to the atmosphere. He continued with other hits from his solo album but the crowd wanted to hear the VITAL SIGNS numbers and thus he responded with "Aitebar", "Woh Kaun Thi", and the crowd's favorite, "Sanwali".

Towards the end of the show, Ali and Junaid gave a joint presentation and remixed a few of their songs, apparently to stay in the remixing trend of the music industry nowadays. Overall, the show was a success and the audience left with a good, merry feeling about the whole affair.
