POSTPAK vs. InterMail

PAGE RETAINED FOR HISTORICAL PURPOSE ONLY.

Due to demand from users on the internet the converse service of POSTPAK was also introduced in Pakistan so that anyone in any city can send a POSTAL letter to us in Lahore. There the letter text is typed in by staff hired for this purpose, and sent to you by internet EMAIL.

This is called INTER-MAIL. That means your family's handwritten (neatly written or typed) letter gets to you by EMAIL on your terminal on the internet.

While thousands of us Pakistanis here have email access in our businesses or even at home, it is MUCH more expensive and difficult to have all our families become PC plus modem plus phone owners to get email access. Even if they did it would be affordable only to those that had local or close by node numbers eg Karachi, Lahore, etc.

To overcome this problem and to make the fruits of technology available to any one in Pakistan regardless of their technical expertise or financial strength, we offer InterMail for receiving postal email *FROM* Pakistan.

The biggest advantage is that any person in any city in Pakistan can send such email without having to spend a paisa on technology.

The rate is $3 for a 2000 character message, which is types and sent by email to any part of the world. People generally find it easier to deposit $10-20 in advance as a credit with us (US$ in USA on US based bank). This sets up your email address with a credit. $3 is deducted from this every time you use the service per 2000 characters.

If you have any other question on this service please send email to Imran Anwar or click here for contact information.
