The IMRAN Group was established in 1979-80 as Incorporated Technologies , little more than a young man's effort to introduce small computers to Pakistani businesses. Working to represent and sell business solutions based on personal computers and CASIO business products, the small business grew based on its creative problem solving skills. It was later registered as a Pakistani corporation focussing on bringing technology related products to Pakistan.

At the same time the importance of Information was shown by our creating an independent corporation, Information & Media Resources, Affiliations, Networks, or IMRAN. This was done at a time when no one used the words information and technology in the same sentence. Once again, IMRAN showed that it was ahead of the leading edge. The company went on to introduce INTERNET email in Pakistan, and also worked with MasterCard to introduce global Dollar denominated Credit Cards to Pakistan's banking industry. From being completely unknown to the masses, credit cards are one of the most easily recognized financial tools in Pakistan now. This firm continues its focus on providing a host of services.

In the United States a third, and independent corporation was established, which manages the business interests of Imran Anwar. This firm is called Imran Anwar Incorporated, and is based in Manhattan & Long Island, NY.

In addition to various Internet related services, IMRAN also introduced and is the largest provider of syndicated materials and intellectual property to the media and broadcast industries in Pakistan, as well as Bangla Desh, Sri Lanka, and even sells media rights to Iranian newspapers.

In 1989 Imran Anwar arrived in the United States and established strategic and agency relationships with the leading global media syndicates.

The first global syndicate to sign up with IMRAN was United Media, which owned the rights to some of the most popular comics, writers, features, cartoons, puzzles and media content, including Snoopy, Garfield, Dilbert and many others. Working with Sidney (Sid) Goldberg, Imran was able to open previously pirating media markets like Pakistan to become paying markets. With all major media groups, including Jang Group, Dawn Group, Nawai-Waqt Group, on board with Imran, even previous holdouts and pirates became paying clients.

United Media appreciated Imran's efforts by adding Bangla Desh and Iran to IMRAN covered exclusive territories. Success in these markets led to more recent expansion of the relationship between IMRAN and United Media which now has us representing United Media and Newspaper Enterprise Association (plus Scripps Howard) in 17 countries including the Central Asian Republics. The late Sid Goldberg is remembered as a good friend, mentor and business partner and will be missed.

In parallel, Imran Anwar worked with John Klem Sr., the late founder of Editors Press Service, and later with his son, John Klem, Jr. to help recover long lost amounts unpaid by clients in that region and to open new markets and make sales as far as Sri Lanka. Editors Press Service's offerings sold by IMRAN include the materials from Universal Press Service, Tribune Media Service, and the respected Washington Post Writers' Group, among others.

IMRAN does not have a formal agency relationship with the well-respected LATWPNS (Los Angeles Times-Washington Post News Service) but has helped them expand their market and sales in Pakistan and recover old outstanding amounts from clients.

IMRAN is always looking to partner with new and exciting providers of content to the media and broadcast industries. Please email IMRAN@imran.com if your company sells or buys media properties.
